The Ark of the Covenant

This is the story I did recently about the theory regarding the presence of the Ark of the Covenant in Ethiopia.  At the end of the piece, Gordon Robertson expresses doubt that it is in Ethiopia because the implements that the Ethiopians will show don’t conform to the tooling of other implements from the age they claim these to be.  And I have to agree.  My close-up examination of the implements, while performed by a layman, left me skeptical, since some of the markings appeared consistent with more modern fabrication techniques, such as lathework.  Also, some of the symbology on the “meat forks” we were shown led me to believe they were made after Christianity had taken root in Ethiopia.

Regardless of these reservations, I think the Ethiopia theory of the whereabouts of the ark of the covenant is compelling, if for no other reason that there are scriptures that lead me to believe it could be there.  Nevertheless, it’s little more than an interesting intellectual exercise, because the ark itself has no power now that the spirit of God inhabits the hearts of men.
